Servant of Azathoth by FatherStone Servant of Azathoth by FatherStone
This is a puppet I built for a Lovecraftian Live-Action Role-Playing Game adventure I run last January.

I'm still drawing, by the way, but seems my recent works are taking more time than I thought.

I hope you like this diversion. The puppet is approximately 2 meters high (almost 6,50 feet).
A friend of mine was inside the puppet, driving it, rotating the head and shacking the tentacles. Not exactly a Hollywood movie, on a special effects point of view, but damn' fun anyway! ;)

NICE!! Perhaps not Hollywood movie effects quality, but definitely creepy!

Ahah! Thank you! Yeah, no special effect, just a puppet. I've not a Hollywood budget, unfortunately. But if I had I would have done it digitally, after all! ;)

I'm actually a fan of the "old fashioned" movie effects, like puppetry and stop-motion animation. You don't see them in film enough anymore.

I totally agree with you, mate! I think that sometimes digital effects looks too fake... and they are definitely not scary.

How long did it take you to finish it? It looks detailed :D

It took a long time, due to the lack of space I had to work. In fact I had to wait for sunny days, to work outside, where the space is enough. It looks detailed, but it is painted with the drybrush technique, so it did not required so much time in painting.

I'm glad you like it! :) I wish I've had more time to built a proper body, not just dressing it with tissue. Anyway I have not so much space to place this monster in my house and this is the reason why I built a light structure for the body, so that I can fold it and simply remove the head and belly. Anyway... it was a funny project! :)
